When the slump started to get bad a few folks figured it would be a good idea to put up a wall. Keep the rabble out until things got better. Keep the bums from pissing on the roses. Keep the riffraff from hanging around the back door asking for kitchen scraps.
The slump kept on going, but inside the walls the yards stayed nice and people walked their dogs and went to the gym and their kids could go down to the playpark at dusk and you didn’t have to worry.
Inside the walls it was nice. But sometimes, if you were real quiet, you could hear what was happening on the other side…
About the artist
Santiago Uceda is an illustrator and graphic designer. His editorial illustrations have appeared in several national publications. He has shown his work at galleries on the west coast and his illustrations have been printed on shoes and t-shirts. This is his first time illustrating a comic so please bear with him while he experiments with this medium.
